WHERE HE LIVES AND WORKS.
He is stricly an interdisciplinary artist with a strong philosophical grounding in writing, music, and image making.
The work is driven by questions surrounding the present and the past; creative identity; faith, doubt, irony, and hierarchy; social machinery; race and language; ego, intimacy, and exhaustion; city planning; artificial intelligence; nature; humor, God and other principalities; Black culture; his Southern background; his Hispanic background; Food, Martial arts,etc.
These curiosities manifest as ideas, thoughts, and lived experiences.
Sugar’s practice is an ongoing attempt to translate them.
He operates under the FREESUGAR ethos, an evolving artistic practice and public-facing system through which his work extends across direction and design,production,music,publishing,business and collective experience.
